Terms & Conditions. How we get your stuff to you.

Payment methods

You can place your order online and pay with a credit card (Visa, Master Card, American Express, Discover) or PayPal. Payment will appear on your credit card statement as BOOKSNBEES. You can also mail us a check or money order — please contact us for details.

Shipping cost

Shipping costs for your order are calculated and displayed prior to checkout. If you live in Alaska or Hawaii and order beekeeping equipment (hives, swarm traps, etc.) the shopping cart may not calculate your shipping correctly, in which case we will contact you to advise you of any change in the shipping cost.

Shipping method

Most orders will ship via US Postal Service or UPS. For large items such as beehives, your address must be serviced by UPS (we cannot ship beehives and other equipment to PO Boxes). We do not ship beekeeping equipment (hives, swarm traps, frames, extractors, etc.) internationally.

Delivery times

We process most orders within 1-3 business days. Should the dispatch of your order be delayed by more than 5 days, we will notify you. Preorders ship as soon as the item becomes available.

Tracking your package

All packages have tracking numbers, which will be e-mailed to you automatically if you provide us with your e-mail address. You can then track your package at the carrier website.

Insurance, Loss, and Damage

Due to the very high reliability of the shipping service, we do not normally insure the packages we ship. You agree that we are not responsible for orders lost or damaged in transit. If you want your shipment insured, please contact us for details.

Sales tax

If we are required to collect sales tax for your jurisdiction, it will be automatically added to the order total during checkout.

International

All international customers are responsible for customs dues or other taxes & fees that may be levied in your country. We will not accept orders returned to us due to customer’s failure to pay the customs dues / fees in a timely manner.

Returns & refunds

We guarantee that all products we sell are brand new (unless otherwise indicated), genuine and free of damage. All items are non-returnable. All sales are final. No refunds. Your order cannot be cancelled or modified once it has been placed. Please check your order carefully prior to checkout to make sure it is accurate. If you are registering for an event, the cancellation/refund policies are spelled out in the event description. We reserve the right to make exceptions, and if we do, restocking fees of up to 25% will apply, assuming the authorized returns are received back in new condition (any damage will result in higher restocking fees or rejection of the authorized return).

Privacy

We respect our customers’ privacy. We never sell or otherwise share any of our customers’ information, including e-mail and phone number, with any organization or individual (except as is necessary for fulfilling your order). The e-mail address that you provide upon checkout will be reserved for order-related communications only, unless you choose to join our e-mail list (from which you can then unsubscribe at any time).

Security

Shopping at www.HorizontalHive.com is 100% secure. All information you provide during checkout (including your credit card number) is encrypted and cannot be viewed by any third party. We use a secure payment processing engine to securely operate the shopping cart and process payments.
